Founding therapist: Vanessa Reyes, M.S., CCC-SLP — bilingual speech-language pathologist

We specialize in working with early intervention and school-aged children with a wide range of communication needs, including speech sound disorders, language delays, and social communication challenges. Our approach is warm, collaborative, and culturally responsive. We partner closely with families, educators, and communities to create meaningful, functional goals that carry over into everyday life. Therapy sessions are designed to be engaging, supportive, and tailored to each child’s unique strengths.
At Unlocking Skills Therapy Group LLC, we believe that every individual deserves the ability to communicate, connect, and be heard. Communication is more than just words—it’s the foundation for learning, relationships, and self-expression.
I’m a bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist and the founder of Unlocking Skills Therapy Group LLC. I’ve been working in the field for over 10 years, supporting children from early intervention through school age with a wide range of communication needs.
I earned my Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Rhode Island in 2013, and I hold my Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
My passion for this work started long before my career. Growing up, I was inspired by my mother, a dedicated special educator, whose work showed me the impact of helping children learn, grow, and find their voice. That inspiration led me to pursue a career where I could make a meaningful difference every day. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with diverse families across school and clinical settings.
These experiences have shaped my approach to therapy—one that is collaborative, culturally responsive, and centered around each child’s unique strengths. As a bilingual clinician, I am especially passionate about supporting multilingual learners and ensuring that language differences are respected and celebrated. I created Unlocking Skills Therapy Group with a clear purpose: to increase access to high-quality, family-centered speech and language services in the community.
I believe that every child—regardless of background or ability—deserves the opportunity to communicate effectively and confidently. Being part of a child’s journey as they grow in their ability to express themselves—whether verbally or through other means—is truly the most rewarding part of what I do.
